We regret to inform you that due to circumstances outside of our control, Operation Eagle Claw has been postponed until further notice. Operation Eagle Claw was set to take place at a 20+ building site outside of Denver, Colorado on June 24-26, 2011.
Earlier this week we were informed by the land owner that they had brought the property into bankruptcy to protect it from being taken over by the bank. Since the land owner had fallen behind on payments they made this move to protect the property from repossession until they can gather the appropriate funds. Although they have assured Colorado Milsim that they will regain control of the property after ninety days, the currently scheduled dates are within the bankruptcy period and the land owner has limited control of the property during this time.
We did attempt to come up with an alternative date but were advised against this until we can know for certain that the property will not interfere with the event.
We would like to apologize for the cancellation, especially to those of you who have already made travel and accommodation plans. Unfortunately, these were circumstances which were beyond our control. We are continuing to explore other options for rescheduling or relocation but at this time our only option is to postpone this event until further notice.
Thank You,
The Colorado Milsim Staff

Background On The Real Operation Eagle Claw Operation Eagle Claw was an American military operation ordered by President Jimmy Carter to attempt to put an end to the Iran hostage crisis by rescuing 52 Americans held captive at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran on 24 April 1980. The operation was designed as a complex two-night mission. The first stage of the mission involved delivering a U.S. Army Delta Force rescue team to a small staging site inside Iran. The next night, the rescue force would be transported in trucks to the embassy by CIA agents, overpower the guards, and escort the hostages to Shahid Shiroudi Stadium, where the helicopters would retrieve the entire contingent.
Although the mission was unsuccessful, Operation Eagle Claw is based off of if the mission had succeeded. In this multi day event our players consisting of Terrorists and US Army Delta Operators will fight it out over the weekend event. There will be multiple scenarios involving many fun and complex scenarios. This is an urban operation so there will be a lot of close quarters battle.
